Help Haiti's Mothers, Newborns and Children

With a 15-year history of working in maternal and child health in Haiti, Jhpiego knows what the the nation’s earthquake stricken women, newborns and children need. Our organization is ready to ensure immediate newborn and infant care and help Haitians rebuild their health care system. When the tsunami hit south Asia in 2004, Jhpiego re-established midwifery practices and an obstetric unit of one hospital in Aceh and equipped 50 village midwives with supplies. Those services reached an estimated 1,504 children and 3,852 women. Our last tsunami project was completed in December. Jhpiego's commitment to the people of Haiti will be no different.
