Publication Cover Manual for Male Circumcision Under Local Anaesthesia
This technical manual, developed by the World Health Organization in collaboration with UNAIDS and Jhpiego, guides providers and program managers in the provision of safe male circumcision services, including counseling circumcised men not to forgo other HIV risk-reduction strategies. The methods covered have been selected on the basis of their safety and practicality for use in limited-resource settings. The manual will be part of a comprehensive package accompanied by training guides and other materials, as well as a framework for program managers to ensure high-quality services. While providing detailed technical information on the different surgical approaches, the manual also addresses broader issues of men's sexual and reproductive health. (2006, draft)
